Re: Better Downward Camea

Oh, I forgot to mention: Be careful with the advertised "2MP". Video resolution of 640x480 is only ~0,3MP. If still resolution is that much higher, it often means it is interpolated - and thus useless for any measurement. I found that most cheap endoscope / microscope cams which are advert...

Re: Better Downward Camea

I had a similar model for PCB inspection on my bench and that gave a crappy image. Maybe I just had bad luck; but my device suffered from uneven lighting and distorted picture. I ended up buying this one as a replacement (for the bench) and tossed the cheap model away: https://www.conrad.de/de/usb-m...

Re: 3d printed downward facing camera mount for Andonstar V1

Hey, thanks for sharing the file.

More interesting to me: It seems you have replaced the USB cable on the Andonstar?

How did you get this thing disassembled?

I would like to relace my cable and also try to fix the camera board better inside the tube - if possible.

Thanks!

Re: Logitech C270 3D printer brackets

Nice 3D printed part :-) I particularly like the fact that you can adjust for camera tilt along the X axis (cam might be tilted around Y axis). This got me thinking... The C270 camera board is rather flat, so we could attempt to move it below the Gantry - thus reducing the offset between nozzle and ...

Re: Pickup tube o rings lubricate?

I use a very tiny drop of silicone spray; but it should not lubricate too much otherwise the nozzle might slip during rotation.

The O-rings can easily be replaced if necessary.

Re: Board feeder/conveyor

As I said, you sound ambitious. It is fair enough to try and build as much as possible and I wish you good luck & much success. With regards to LitePlacer pricing, I think the kit prices are more than fair. I built my machine based on Juha's plans before he started selling the kit. I do not have...

Re: FAQ:Machine footprint details

Valid points, but camera a few cm to the left of the board is not that far away... It is not just about distance but also about direction. With my layout the head picks up part, moves to camera and then advances to the PCB. feeder.png If you make it move to the other side of the table, it not only ...

Re: FAQ:Machine footprint details

I disagree with the ideal camera location. Sure, putting it to the left makes use of "dead space" (not visible by head cam). However, this will increase travel time - if we ever get part aligment with table cam or one decides to go for OpenPNP :-P I use the left side for nozzle changer and...

Re: Simplifying Parts / Components Setup

I guess that would help. In OpenPNP, feeders are abstracted from parts - so you define a feeder including location in one place, and map components in another. I wonder if that level of abstraction would also make sense in LitePlacer. What is truly helpful in OpenPNP is the ability to build and grow...

Simplifying Parts / Components Setup

Hey everyone, Juha asked in another thread: Hi Malte, Do you have any ideas how to make parts setup easier (maybe in another thread)? To me, physically putting the parts on table, setting up the parts in software, checking orientation / aligmnent takes a significant amount of time. I'd say of a regu...
