Compute stick

Has anyone tried using one of the Intel compute sticks (or similar) to drive the liteplacer? I don't want to run it off my laptop long term, and it doesn't seem like the hardware requirements are too steep. I'm looking at the CS125 compute stick, which has a quad-core Atom Z8300 cpu, 2GB ram, and 32...

Re: Liteplacer table

Found out that Misumi gives a 30% discount to new customers for the first 30 days, a suitable table using 40x40mm extrusions will run around 160USD including leveling feet (I went a bit larger, at 71x122cm for the table). We use extrusions quite a bit at work for test fixtures, so I'm familiar with ...

Re: Liteplacer table

Malte, how much did that table cost you and where did you buy it? What size extrusions are those? I'm thinking of building something similar. Anything you would do different now that it's built?

Re: FAQ: Would you make a CNC upgrade kit?

A CNC head on the liteplacer could be useful to create PCBs,

Re: Vacuum Solenoid Valves

It's also worth mentioning that there is much benefit in connecting an absolute pressure sensor near the nozzle; mostly to detect failed picks / dropped parts and monitor that vacuum works. The rmod fork supports analog readout via a modified pin on TinyG; or you could make your own vacuum control ...

Re: Vacuum Solenoid Valves

Just going through stuff on my desk, found a MAC 24V 3/2 valve that should be perfect. 6ms open time, 2ms close time, 0.17Cv. Have you found giving the part a little puff after placement helps significantly? Increased speed? Something else? I'm not going to be using the machine for anything more tha...

Re: Vacuum Solenoid Valves

Which valve did you use? I haven't found any good data on the skoocom one included in the kit, other than coil resistance which is way off what I measured (it's spec'd at 160+/-10% ohms and I measured 258 ohms). The point of my circuit isn't to speed up the solenoid though, just to reduce the power ...

Re: Vacuum Solenoid Valves

I'm getting my kit ready to assemble, and have plugged the solenoid and vacuum pump into my bench supply to make sure they work properly. I noticed that the solenoid gets pretty hot at 24V, has anyone had trouble with it overheating? I'm putting together a quick PCB to simplify wiring of the pump an...

Re: Ovens

I have a T962A and for the price it's pretty good. The UI is pretty horrendous, but the hardware is decent. I had to make my own temp profile to avoid heating up too fast and splattering flux, but after that it works great. Occasionally the fan doesn't turn on, you need to tap on it a few times and ...

Re: FAQ: Where to get cheap stencils?

Elecrow also will make stencils for an affordable price. If they're anything like their PCBs they should be pretty good quality. I ordered one a week ago, I'll update with results when it arrives.
