Re: A note about getting support

You might consider ticketing system ( as plugin to forum).
This would be be easier to maintain, also the information would be in one place ( easier then finding it on forum).

Re: 3d printed 8mm paper tape hold down tray

Well,

Nice looking, but from my experience it is hard to get best fit with 3D printed objects - I have moved to either machining or laser cutting.
No matter what I was unable to bet below 0.1mm accuracy. So good enough for 0603 size, but unlikely or smaller ones.

Re: DIY stencils at home

RECI rate their tubes to 10,000hrs and I believe them based on my usage of 3 of them (100 and 120W). I've seen too many "80W" chinese tubes seriously down on power after just 2-3 months even when never used above 80% power. I bought Chinese laser, but after tweaking I decided to rebuild i...

Re: Ovens

If the graph really is inverted, the profile lookas actually rather good. It is a feature - not the bug. With that kind of process, it is hard to stabilize the temperature for certain point ( below vapor point) - big, fully professional ovens can do it, but they seem to have moveable shelf ( up/dow...

Re: Ovens

Ok, got manual.

No profile control , but most likely it is not much needed.

Re: Ovens

The only minor problem is the price for the Galden fluid you need for the vapor. . Do you know how much of the fluid is lost during normal operation ? I do have quite good working oven ( http://www.aoyue.eu/aoyue-inthhl-3000-reflow-oven-with-5-programmes.html ), but as I want to start with BGA I am...

Re: Better nozzle with auto change?

I can show you my prototype - a bit different idea. Uses professional Siemens Siplace nozzles ( got bargain for them, but had to buy full box - 100s of them different types) The plate is so large because it is used for activating induction sensor when nozzle presses component ( there is spring syste...

Re: Saving I/o pins at the TinyG controller for further upda

Personally, if you ask me, "my machinist friends tell me that's how it should be" is not a real justification. I'm sure there are plenty of professional CNC products where this is true. But the TinyG isn't a single-machine controller, and it's silly of the TinyG developers to force this a...

Re: Question from competition :-)

I know. I used to have professional pick and place machine with such features - it helped a lot.

Unfortunately the gerber preview is quite heavy ( even for QT), so it requires quite powerfull computer.
