Re: Z axis making odd sound
On different note, why is turning vacuum pump on moving axis as well? Is that like that by design, or is something wrong with my board? Thanks. That nasty movement is because it is, as Juha documented somewhere, to avoid a bug in the tinyG firmware when turning the switched output for the pump on a...

Re: Inaccurate placement
Have you adjusted the needle/nozzle to camera offset? There are some methods described in this forum. The problem could be that the down camera does not exactly look vertically down (at least the one I have). You can see this by centering the camera center over a hole. If you only see one wall the c...

Re: Table Color Selection: problems with black
Yes that problem can also arise when you, like I did, a) use a black 3d printed tape holder (maltes design) b) use a black plastic tape (12mm with pockets for WS2812 RGB LED) c) have relatively large white components (WS2812 RGB LED) If you place the single LED on a white surface, you can clearly se...

Location of Nozzle Changer
I first mounted the changer hardware on the far left rear side (close to X = 0 and Y = MaxY) just like shown on Juhas photos. After some adjustment cycles I got the changer to work very well. Yes, you have to push down far when picking the nozzle to insure a flush position of the nozzle otherwise yo...

Re: Tape Strip Holders
I can only confirm maltes arguments. Having worked on video processing for the last couple of weeks I found it extremely important to have every object used for position recognition (zero mark, fiducial, tray fiducial, tapes, feeders and trays) on almost the same Z height. All cameras I am using (Ju...

Connection adapter for samsung nozzle adapter to 5mm stepper
Hello everybody, after successfully upgrading my liteplacer with Juhas nozzle changer I am continuing my effort to enhance the machine further with a 4 - head gantry. The 4 steppers for the nozzle are NEMA8 with a 5mm hollow shaft. They are moved in pairs by 2 NEMA17 and are running on 10mm linear b...

Re: Tape Strip Holders
Working with mrands 3d printed tape holders with 5050 LEDs in a black plastic tape I found that it is essential to have a bottom support just below the bottom of the tape pocket. Having the pockets float in mid air - only supported by the tape stripes - inevitably leads to "jumping" parts...

Interesting aspect on cover tape peeling
Hi,
I coincidentally tripped over the following document:
http://www.kingbrightusa.com/Applicatio ... D_LEDs.pdf
Take a close look at page 6 on how they recommend peeling the cover tape in a tape feeder.

Re: Tape Strip Holders
You can manually set pickup z. Does that help? Sure the second pickup after probing works fine even if Z can be a bit lower than necessary due the plastic tape give way. But using the probing function is very nice and comfortable. Testing the new nozzles I use manual pickup and placement at the dow...
