Samsung nozzles and up camera calibration

The CP40 nozzles of the upgrade kit are totally mat black. Looking up into them conceals several circles to detect. Due to the black color they are very hard the detect. I solved the problem by using a white edding type marker pen an painted the bottom white. Now the up camera calibration works like...

Re: Short Tip for Update Kit Assembly

I think lubrication will be necessary. I left a nozzle on the adapter for a couple of days and today I needed quite a bit of force to pull the nozzle off. Afterwards the nozzle went on and off with much less force. Therefore it may be advisable to explicitly unload the nozzle before shutting down th...

Short Tip for Update Kit Assembly

Yesterday I upgraded my Liteplacer with Yuhas Update Kit. :D Great work by the way! It does not take much time, but I ran into a minor problem in step 5 changing the two bearings. I first just replaced the bearings and adjusted the vertical height of the PnP head middle plate. But the tube moved ver...

Re: Better nozzle with auto change?

OTOH my mechaduino boards will be here soon, so maybe I'll use their force-feedback awesomeness for Z-detection and go totally sensorless. Aw yeah. They monitor both the rotational position of the stepper (magnetic encoder) and the current delivered to the motor (series current-sensing resistor) an...

Re: Location of up-camera hole

Hello John, the best location is somewhere along the movement path between part pickup (feeder) and the part placement location on the PCB. Many still place the hole near the lower left zero home location. I decided to place the hole above the PCB area, which is not optimal if you don't use tape str...

Re: [ExtremePnP - Opensource, Custom Software for the LitePl

Hey! .... Let me know what you think! I think you should first look into working with one of the existing software versions and gather experience how these work and also evaluate whatever information you can get on existing professional systems. There's a lot more to consider than writing an other ...

Re: Are we doing needle calibration right?

I implemented a IMHO simple method: move to the assumed camera center First you measure the 16 calibration points. Use the 4 value for 0, 22.5, 45, 67.5, 90 and compute the intersection point of the line and its 90° orthogonal line. Compute the Location average of the resulting 4 intersections The g...

Re: Danal's Build, Part 5 - Back after a long pause

Thinking about using Malte's 3D printed mount http://malte-randt.de/improved-3d-printable-camera-mount/ You really should do that. With the cam + maltes mount you get a very good up camera which is looking straight up. Juhas solution is very difficult to adjust to look straight up when it is mounte...

Re: Wood-Placer

Thank you Rainer, I think I will try to prolong the left "grip" down to the holder plate surface and add a 2mm screw running through a hole in the left plus an embedded 2mm nut in the static (darkred) bottom part. One could omit the nut but I don't want to rely on the "pseudo" th...

Re: Wood-Placer

Rainer, an ingenious solution! 8-) 8-) 8-)

I will implement that in my 3D printed trays!

Just one question: how do yo lock the chims that they do not slide back leftwards?
