I've been running this way, the two kit supplied LED rings wired in series and directly to the 24V supply, for about two days.
Seems to work fine.

Clear Tape is driving me nuts!
I am finding it very difficult to get a set of filters that consistently find the holes in clear tape. I have great success with Homing, Fiducials, Black Tape, etc, etc. Clear tape is driving me nuts!
Any tips or hints?

Re: If there are no fudicials
I also have a bunch of boards (hundreds) that have no Fiducials. I have achieved some success using Vias instead. It is fairly easy to add these to the CSV file. I use the PCB CAD software to generate a file with all the components. I add two or three rows for fiducials, and get the coordinates for ...

Re: Danal's Build, Part 5 - Back after a long pause
First real placements late today. Placed 16 caps of 1206 size. Entirely successful, minus one that it did not pick up. No rubber tip on the needle, yet.
All in all, a very great success.

Re: My problems with limit switches
Yep, "Homing" finds the Min switch by moving at a medium speed, backs off, finds it again at a slower speed for more accuracy, and then backs off a little bit so the switch is not clicked, and that is "Zero" on that axis. This sequence is fairly standard for any mechanical CNC de...

Re: My problems with limit switches
What you are seeing is correct behavior (assuming the TinyG halt/error occurs on the MAX switch and not on the MIN switch). In normal operation, including to some extent setup and calibration of the machine, the X and Y "Max" switches are just a safety net. That is, the machine should hit ...

I did print one and use it, along with the supplied LED ring. It works GREAT.

Re: Trouble with A axis
Juku, Would you consider offering some of the upgrades that have been mentioned, this one and others like it, wherein you could do the same thing you are doing with the kits, order in quantity and repackage? I know your not really in this for the money... still, it might provide a nice little revenu...

Danal's Build, Part 5 - Back after a long pause
External events conspired to keep me from completing the LitePlacer. Then suddenly, I need it to make some boards under deadline. Let's see if I can finish it. As of this moment, all limit switches are in, the machine homes mechanically and optically, the needle is calibrated. Next steps: 1) Up Came...

Some VERY LARGE photos detailing the above. You may want to use CTL+Mouse wheel (or CTL with the "+" and "-" keys) to zoom. (Pro Tip: Ctl+0 returns to default 'no zoom').
