Re: Are we doing needle calibration right?

Yet, you said earlier that it was not necessary? What a misunderstanding!  If you take a second look at my first post, it Is exactly what I wanted to say and question. I called it z-axis center. so here my original suggestion and claim: step 1) first compute the center point of the neddl...

Re: Are we doing needle calibration right?

So, my thoughts are not so erroneous as it seems. ;) When most of the users have orthogonal or horizontal aligned parts the offset induced by wobble does not become very evident since the part is mostly placed within the solder paste blob. If you encounter increased tombstoning that could suggest a ...

[Solved] How to fix the sticking LHFC8 bearings

Since the very beginning I irregularly have a problem with the Z axis while probing. It sometimes gets stuck when z move up and the switch does not open. Today it happened again and I decided to see if a change of the spring #6 pressure could help. So I loosened the SCCN8-6 collar and moved the z ax...

Are we doing needle calibration right?

I stepped into a recurring offset problem after changing my needle or after restart of the program. Let me show you my path of findings and please correct me if I am wrong: a) the machine coordinates are homed mechanically and optically using the center of the down cam. b) right now we will ignore P...

Re: rmod (ver2) help please

Thank you Jason, :D

That will be a great help. I was not sure where fluentCV originated from.

Yes, Liteplacer uses oPenCV and I think it will be possible to implement your functions.

Re: rmod (ver2) help please

Thank you Jason, for the information. Let's see how we can bring both development activities together. Jason, do you have any suggestions how .net c# developers can tap the vision libraries you are using? openCV and aForge are just the first libraries Juha has chosen. How can we use vision.FluentCv ...

Getting the right visual handling on tapes and components is not easy.

So please tell us, what and how Openpnp does it better so that I and other liteplacer software developers can do it better too!

Re: rapid speed / creep speed movements

The TinyG motion control decelerates the stepper down to zero according to the set final position of a move. There are some impressive videos showing TinyG superior acceleration-decelerations algorithm. So the speed during movement is only a matter of how fast you can step without any step loss. Whe...

Re: Danal's Build, part 1 - Before the kit arrives.

Danal, just three advice: a) don't forget a fan for the TinyG stepper drivers. b) don't forget to bring the tinyG RESET with a handy push button to an accessible place. Bet ya... you WILL use it more often than you'd expected! b) keep in mind that your shielded cables will be bent thousands of times...
