Re: Are we doing needle calibration right?

@Juku you will be right because you are the programer of the code - and a geniouse because of this in my eyes for sure! As a mechanical CNC thinking user a needle to cam distance would indicate the cam to motor rotation axis - but you are right this is irrelevant as long as nobody touches the A axis...

Re: Are we doing needle calibration right?

Hello Mrand.

I am new to liteplacer - but I always wondered how the lite placer software ever measures the cam to needle distance without measuring the wobble and calculating the true center of the rotating needle axis.

So for my oppinion you are totally right with your thinking...

Re: Wood-Placer

Yesterday I tested my first part holders made from laser cut MDF. They are equiped with a long shim to press the parts strip to the top guide of the holder under it's full length. By this you get a firm base of all parts and an equal distance from the stripe surface to the camera what makes focussin...

Re: some camera advice/findings

Me again: I tried a second computer with win 7 and 8 MB RAM but I still get the red cross on the camera screen by chance. Next step will be to go to a more modern computer with USB3 ports - even if i am not using USB3 the controller might be more sophisticatd and maybe that helps. @Juha Do you have ...

rapid speed / creep speed movements

At my milling machine I am used to program most movements with two different speeds. A rapid motion will bring the tool head NEAR the desired location with full speed. The rest of the travel till the work piece surface will be done in creep speed. The length of the creep speed path will be defined b...

Re: some camera advice/findings

Because of this posts I installed two logiteh C270 on my machine. It's running nice with it. Unfortunately I get random camera errors while using the machine and/or placing parts. A red cross shows up instead of the camera view and I get an error message. After quitting the error message the machine...

Re: Wood-Placer

Thank you for asking... The main goal was to build it so small that it will fit into one drawer of my file cabinet near my desk. I don't have the need to build many PCBs but I don't like to place 120 parts by hand. You can open the drawer - play a little and close it again without any dust problems ...

Re: Danal's Build, part 1 - Before the kit arrives.

The shielded cables are a good take!

I run in trouble with non shielded cables first and had to change to shielded ones later.
