Liteplacer assembled and tested. Unit was assembled this month (purchased oct 2020). Had to move towards a COTS solution due to time constraints.

Assembly details:
  • All electrical wiring has been meticulously documented.
  • All cable wiring in cable chain has been done with IGUS Chainflex cables for reliability.
  • Ferrules and wire crimps used on all the wiring for reliability
  • Cable chains required additional support for stiffness, so 3D printed parts have been added to the system for strengthening it
  • Components have been picked and placed. Reliable placement of 0603 components. Needed a bit of oversight for 0402. We spent ~10 days for assembly and ~6 for testing. So haven't spent more time tweaking the system for 0402.
Parts needed to work:
  • PC
  • 24V power supply
  • ESD mat if you need it
  • Table
  • Reel holder. I have a 3d printed reel holder for 8mm width that can be given if interested, along with step files

I'm in Atlanta, and I might be interested in it, but I am not ready for it yet. I am still building my workshop with other parts and tools. I want to talk to you about it, and maybe go ahead and get it, if I think it will be better than buying one new later.
